Bridget McCann, MA, RP, OAMHP

Hi, I’m Bridget!

Welcome to this page and thank you for reading my bio. Reaching out and acknowledging we need help can be challenging but if you’re reading this, you’re already halfway there!

Every single one of us experiences life from a unique lens, which is influenced by the various factors in our day-to-day lives. But sometimes, our lens becomes cloudy, making it feel as though we can’t see which direction we’re going. My approach to psychotherapy focuses on helping clients gain clarity, overcome barriers, and experience positive transformative change towards mental and physical wellness. This is achieved through collaboratively working with clients and providing them with skills, resources, and a safe space to be their true selves. I focus on building solutions, understanding narratives, and helping clients explore their own deeper underlying emotions. My goal as your therapist is to help you reach your goals and remind you to be kind to yourself throughout the process. Rome wasn’t built in a day!

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and minors in Philosophy and Religion and Culture. I bring nearly eight years experience working for various community and family agencies and a passion for helping people live authentic lives and building meaningful connections. I highly value the therapeutic alliance and aim to create a safe, transparent, and trusting relationship with each client I work with.

I’ve always known I wanted to help people in some capacity. Bridging this desire to help others and my passion for mental health advocacy is what ultimately lead me to become a Registered Psychotherapist! I have experience working with youth, teens, and adults from various backgrounds in the following areas: General & Social Anxiety, Perinatal mental health (PPA/PPD), OCD, Depression, Family & Relationship Conflict, Separation & Divorce, Blended Families, LGBTQ+, Life Transitions, Self-esteem, Stress Management, Work-Life Balance, and Wellness. I am currently completing certification in Perinatal mental health as working with this population is of special interest.

In my free time, you can find me on a beach soaking up the sunshine while reading a good book, singing along to the radio, or getting my daily dose of exercise on an outdoor hike. I also love to cuddle up on the couch with a cozy blanket while watching Netflix with my loved ones.
